The Aesthetic: Silver Travertine in Multiple Textures
To create a cohesive yet dynamic look across the three villas, the project utilized Silver Travertine in two distinct finishes. This choice highlights the stone's natural grey and ash tones while offering different tactile experiences:
- Interior & Veranda Flooring: 1,850 m² of Unfilled Tumbled Silver Travertine. The tumbled finish provides a soft, aged look with "pillowed" edges, creating a seamless transition from the cozy interiors to the open-air verandas.
- Exterior Accent Walls: 1,800 m² of 5 x 10 cm Mesh-Backed Silver Splitface Mosaics. This rugged, three-dimensional texture was used to add depth and architectural character to the villas' exterior facades.
Technical Precision: Custom Dimensions for Every Detail
A project of this scale requires more than just standard tiles. Mekmar produced and supplied 350 m² of custom-cut elements to ensure every architectural detail was addressed:
- Versatile Thicknesses: From 1.2 cm for standard flooring to 2 cm, 3 cm, and 5 cm for structural and exterior applications.
- Bespoke Elements: We meticulously crafted matching steps, risers, landings, and special coatings to maintain design continuity throughout the property.
- Format: The primary flooring utilized the popular 40.6 x 61 cm size, providing a classic yet modern proportion to the living spaces.
